December Photo-A-Day Challenge

Taking photographs has always been something I love doing. I'm still thankful for the invention of digital cameras! Work really hinders my creative side though, and I find that I am slacking. That's why this year I've decided to participate in:

I'm very much looking forward to documenting each day in pictures, and in my own interpretation of the topics. Feel free to jump in!

25 Days Of Christmas

Christmas has always been one of my favorite times of the year. As much as I hate IL winters, snow, and cold weather, there is something cozy and refreshing about being inside and watching said weather catastrophes while curled up under a blanket reading, watching TV, or drinking hot chocolate.

This is why I've decided to join the link up over at Sowdering About In Seattle, my good friend's blog.

I will be the first to admit, I'm a slacker in the blog world. I used to be way better about it, but I definitely haven't been working up to my potential. But I figure the holidays are when I have the most to talk about. Also I'm hosting a party or two, and making cookies. So I plan on sharing all of this with you.

I'm fairly certain this year I am going to completely overcompensate everything. This will be the first Christmas without my father. I'm not entirely sure how to handle it. Not only that, but it's my beautiful daughters first Christmas, so I have to make it good no matter what I'm feeling.

So feel free to join on our holiday journey!!!

Kudos to our amazing photographer Kara for our fantastic holiday pictures which I love.

I leave you with our first bit of Christmas:

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I'm thankful that even though my dad was taken from me, I'm still surrounded by friends and family who love me.

I'm thankful for my beautiful daughter who is my everything.

I'm thankful that I have a job, even though staying home and not working is tempting.

I'm thankful for my husband. Even with our ups and downs, he is still there when I need him.

I'm thankful for my fellow January 2012 moms. Without the support of these women, I would have gone certifiably insane a long time ago. Or had a nervous breakdown.

I'm thankful for my growing savings account, which will allow a better future for my family and I.

I'm thankful for all my friends and family, and the health of those around me.

Happy thanksgiving!

Something New Sunday

I'm having a lazy Sunday! I went and got my early Christmas gift from my husband and daughter earlier this afternoon, and figured I should share!

This was at the top of my wishlist!
